Athletic scholarships are available across the NCAA Division I & II, NAIA, and Junior Colleges. Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, and at the college level the spotlight has never been brighter. With many games being broadcast across the ESPN network and in the UK on BT Sport the exposure college soccer is going through the roof. Alongside the sporting aspect all student-athletes are working towards earning a degree in their preferred field, whether that be business, sport medicine, or engineering, the choice of degree is the student-athletes.
There have been several former college players who have, and currently are playing at the very top level, including Jack Harrison, current Leeds Utd player and former Wake Forest University student-athlete. Clint Dempsey, former Fulham, and Tottenham Hotspur player attended and played soccer at Furman University. DeAndre Yedlin the former Newcastle United and current Inter Miami right-back attended and played soccer at the University of Akron before being drafted into the MLS.
